STAYING MOTIVATED - Help!!

I need friends - preferably non-skinny friends - that want to commit to exercising or calling or exchanging recipes and most of all that like laughing together more then any of the above.  With our busy lives it seems next to impossible to coordinate a time to work out a schedule with someone and yet I'm not good doing anything alone much less something that needs me to make so many personal changes in me!  So what do I do?  Where can I dig up some friends?  Where do I go to find someone that wants or needs the things that I do???   Any suggestions?

  2. Really - you would do that?? I'm thinking that I'll get a membership to the collge gym and maybe I'll do a family membership and we can take everyone and go to the pool or let them run around the track. What do you think? I definately now have incentive to keep up with my goals - no short shorts!!

  6. OK, so far, I have it set so that people can post without having to register anywhere, however, they will be listed as Anonymous. I suppose they could sign their name, but they won't know to do that until they see this or use it a couple of times. I'll keep working on it.

  7. Ok, for test #3, I used the sign out "Name/URL", and I entered my name. For this post I used the same sign out, except I put my website address in with it. ;o) People have to choose these sign outs from the "comment as" pull down menu.

  9. Maybe tomorrow. If the snow cancels everything, I will need just the first part of the morning to finish a newsletter for HACC. Then I'm free. I'll call you.

  10. By the way, I would love to exercise with you! I refuse, however, to put any more money into diet/exercise stuff like a membership to LVC. I would do a Zumba or other exercise class every now and then, but I have to use what I already have here at home. I'd be happy to go walking all over town with you, or you could come over and do one of my 100s of exercise videos and DVDs with me. We also have an eliptical, and best of all, a hot tub to jump in afterwards. ;o) Two really nice apps for the iPhone are Walkmeter (about $5) and MyFitnessPal (free). They motivate me to stay on track. I also decided to write down what I do for exercise each day. Seems to be more motivating for me rather than looking at what I eat each day. ;o) At least for now . . . I'll write down the food later, plus, it can be entered into MyFitnessPal. Good for you, Becky! All the best in this endeavor . . . it's hard, and you're gutsy for putting it all out here in a blog.

  11. I like the idea of writing down my exercise part - a much shorter list each day. I have RunKeeper on my phone - I must confess that I've never used it but it looks pretty good. I'm going to check out the MyFitnessPal. I cannot Zumba, as much as that sounds like it would be a great exercise, I have NO coordination. I like the hot tub idea and I am always up for walking around town - I really like to walk but not alone, I like to walk and talk so it goes faster and I walk farther. We'll talk tomorrow and maybe work out a time to fit in some exercise together. Thanks again for your work on my blog today!
