A WORK IN PROGRESS... My blog and Me!

Today was a day to try to figure out the logistics of the computer and my blog and since computers are not my thing I had to ask some friends and they were good enough to help me out.  Thanks Tim and Marj!
I'm going to get back on the elliptical tonight (I had pasta, chicken & broccoli for dinner).  I decided that if I'm home and I don't have anything to do - other then what I always have to do, laundry, picking up, dishes, etc., - then I will commit to getting on the elliptical for my 45 minutes at night too.
It's kind of amazing that since I started this blog I think about everything I eat - before I eat it.  Prior to this I thought about everything I ate at the end of the day when I went to bed and hated myself for everything I had stuffed in my mouth all day.  I think I may be on the right track.  For all of you that have encouraged me and made suggestions and pushed me onward - thank you from the bottom of my soon to be healthy heart!!!

  1. Becky , I know you will enjoy success because you have it in your head that you ARE gonna drop a few pounds ! The first step is to get yourself in the proper frame of mind and you seem like you are there . After 33 years of wasting money and damaging my body , I quit smoking "Cold Turkey" in 2010 ! The Key to success was to get my mind right and convince myself that I had the Will Power to pull it off !

  2. Congrats on giving up smoking - that's a big one!! It is so much a mind game these addictions we have whether it's smoking or food or any one of the other addictions people deal with. I'm trying to find the one magic article, book or statement that will be the one that makes the switch go off in my head and make me do this - eat healthy, get moving and not for a month or two but that it's part of who I am from now on. Help me out, keep your eyes & ears open and if you come across what I'm looking for make sure you get it too me. In the meantime I will use my friends on my Blog to keep me on track - Thank You!!

  3. It is funny how you mentioned that "magic article , book , or statement" because ironically a friend in Texas says he has found the PERFECT book for me about eating healthy ? When I return to the Lone Star State (someday) I look forward to checking it out ! Keith told me the book isn't about any diet but it's more of an eye opener about the JUNK that we ingest into our body every day !

  4. Awesome - I would love to hear what book it is. Sounds like one I need. Keep me posted.

  5. I'm with Cave - dave and I quit smoking easily the first time we tried because instead of thinking "oh quitting cold turkey is so hard, everyone fails" we thought "Failure is unacceptable - we're quitting, period." Mindset is everything!

By the way, my subscription's broken - it didn't let me know you had put up new ones even though you clearly had. Stupid computers.

Thirdly, is your night 45 minutes in addition to your morning ones? If not, don't let yourself say "when I have time" or eventually you won't have time. Put it right up there with your other "required" things to do and if the house doesn't get picked up one day, so be it. Your health is more important. :) Love you!
